A room-by-room scope you can actually review

Use this practical room checklist to identify cleaning priorities, optional interiors, private areas, and the tasks your quote should name.

A checklist is a conversation tool

The most useful checklist is the one that describes your home. It should help you decide what belongs in a quote, not suggest that every household must buy every task. Start with the rooms you want included and mark the surfaces that are accessible, delicate, or outside the request.

The examples below are prompts for planning. They are not a standard package or a promise that each item is available. Your accepted quote should identify the actual work, limits, and conditions for the visit.

Kitchen and bathroom prompts

These rooms often contain the most specific task choices. Distinguish exterior surfaces from interiors and identify any finish with special care instructions. Explain whether counters and shelves will be cleared. Personal products, stored food, and cookware should not require unspoken decisions during cleaning.

  • Kitchen: accessible counters, sink, appliance exteriors, selected cabinet fronts, and floor.
  • Optional kitchen interiors: name each appliance or cupboard separately and confirm it will be ready.
  • Bathroom: agreed fixtures, mirrors, accessible surfaces, selected cabinetry, and floor.
  • Special materials: identify stone, coatings, unusual fixtures, and any areas to leave untouched.

Bedrooms and shared living rooms

Choose the rooms used most and describe the result you want. A bedroom may need accessible surface cleaning, an agreed linen change, or organizing help. Those tasks belong on separate lines because they involve different preparation and permission. Specify any bed-making request and where clean linens will be provided.

In living rooms, consider accessible tables, shelving, and floors. Name pet hair priorities and delicate objects. Upholstery treatment, moving heavy furniture, and cleaning artwork require separate discussion; they should not be inferred from a general request to clean the room.

Entries, work areas, and storage

Entrances benefit from a clear distinction between ordinary cleaning and finding homes for incoming belongings. Home offices need boundaries around papers, screens, equipment, and private storage. Closets and utility spaces may be included selectively instead of automatically expanding the project.

Mark any area that cannot be reached until you have made another decision. If the work includes sorting, define who authorizes relocation, donation, or disposal. A checklist should protect your choices as well as describe the surfaces you want attended to.

Finish with priorities and exclusions

Circle the three outcomes that matter most. Then add a short exclusion list: rooms that stay closed, objects that stay in place, and work requiring another provider. Include the deadline if there is one, while distinguishing your preferred date from a confirmed appointment.

Use the Partners in Grime service request form to share that practical outline. Every job is quoted individually. The final scope should be clear enough that you can tell what has been requested without relying on assumptions hidden inside the phrase whole-house cleaning.
